…a place for gathering

Fiona Hillary and Sarah Haq with Hugo Cran

Douglas St Noble Park

Suspended by catenary wires between two street light poles and a soundscape that fuses music and ambient sounds, Hillary, Haq and Cran, generate a dynamic interface between community and place.  Using words taken from a range of community voices about what

a place for gathering means to them, the work is presented within a traditional neon form, reminding us of a time when neon captivated the hearts and minds of cities, film and photography.
